The PetSafe Stubborn Dog Collar is for the occasional hard-to-train dog and is compatible with all PetSafe, Radio Fence and Pet Guardian Brand underground dog fences. It weighs just 3 ounces and measures 2.25 x 1.5 x 1.25 inches. It is three times more powerful than our regular dog fence collars and is designed with stubborn or hard to train dogs.

Because of its size, this receiver should be used for dogs that are 20 pounds or larger. The Stubborn Dog Collar comes complete with collar, short probes for short hair dogs and long probes for long hair dogs. The Stubborn Dog Collar requires a 9 volt battery (Not Included). The Petsafe underground fence works as one of the best confinement tools ever to be created. Your pet is discreetly corrected every time it steps over the bounds of the fence and you do not have to worry about the risk of losing your pet, as it will be safely hold it inside the restrictions of the fence. However nothing lasts forever, so some occasional problems might appear and this is what this article is all about. We are going to briefly chat about the problems that occasionally appear regarding the Petsafe underground fence and also what you should do to get rid of these problems.

The first problems to appear regarding the overall functionality of the underground fence are connected to the collar. If the receiver located on the dog's collar is not beeping or giving required corrections, then the first thing to do is check the battery to make sure it is mounted correctly. If the batteries are in good shape, then heck the lights on the transmitter. If both are not lit, just do a short test by resetting the collar.

If the receiver on the collar beeps, however the dog does not respond to the correction, test the receiver on the collar with the regular test light. If it keeps flashes, you should then check so the collar fits properly and is making contact with the dog's skin. If needed, trim the fur or use the longer contacts. If the receiver is now working and making full contact will the skin of the animal try to walk with the pet across the fence. Sometimes the pet simply gets used to the shock and if you call the service number on the collar, the intensity can be increased.

The second problem is not connected to the Petsafe shock collar, and has more to do with the radio signal. If the signal is not very consistent and you see the dog in again not corrected, check to ensure the transmitter is not too close to large metal objects in or around your house, such as appliances that will affect the strength of the signal. Determine whether the curves in the boundary wire are gradual and that it's at least five feet away other pet fence systems, electric or phone wires, TV cables or satellite dishes.

Sometimes the problem regarding the underground pet fence can be another pet fence located in the vicinity. An alternate frequency can alter the overall power of the radio signal and in this case you need to call the specialized crew, sing the service number again.
